4 English muffins, split in half
1 cup marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional toppings: pepperoni, sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, or fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Use a bread knife to carefully split the English muffins in half and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the marinara sauce, dried oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir with a silicone spatula until well blended.
- Spoon the sauce mixture evenly onto each English muffin half, spreading it with the back of a measuring spoon.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the sauce, covering each muffin half completely.
- Add any optional toppings, such as pepperoni or vegetables, pressing them lightly into the cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from the oven using mitts and let cool slightly on a cooling rack before serving.
