Ingredients
1 packet unflavored gelatin powder
1/4 cup cold water
3/4 cup hot water
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly over the cold water in a small bowl and let bloom for 5 minutes.
Heat the water until hot but not boiling and dissolve the sugar completely.
Pour the hot sugar water over the bloomed gelatin and whisk until fully dissolved and smooth.
Stir in the vanilla extract until evenly combined.
Pour the mixture into a mold or serving dish.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
To unmold, dip the mold briefly in warm water and invert onto a plate.
Serve chilled.
Notes
Blooming gelatin in cold water prevents lumps and ensures a smooth texture.
Reduce sugar for a less sweet dessert or swap flavors as desired.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
