Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325°F and grease a baking dish with butter.
In a medium bowl, melt the butter and stir in the sugar until well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt, then stir until smooth.
Fold in the vanilla extract and walnuts if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is set but the center is still slightly soft.
