This easy homemade jello-style dessert uses fruit juice, sugar, and gelatin to create a smooth, flavorful treat that sets perfectly every time.

  • Total Time: 255
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1 cup fruit juice (orange, apple, or grape)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
Fresh fruit pieces or food coloring (optional)

Instructions

Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water in a small bowl and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
In a saucepan, heat the fruit juice and sugar over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
Add food coloring or fold in fresh fruit pieces if desired.
Pour the mixture into a mold or serving dish.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours until fully set.
Dip the mold briefly in warm water and invert onto a plate to unmold.
Serve chilled and enjoy.

Notes

Avoid fresh pineapple, kiwi, or papaya as they prevent gelatin from setting.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
